Frequently Asked Questions

What should I know about your church?

Click Our Beliefs to learn more about what we believe about God, Jesus, the Bible, church, and more.

But in short, we like to say we are a church of curiosity, community, and surprise. All people are welcome here. All we ask is that you come curious.

When do you meet?

Our church’s primary gathering is Sundays at 10:30am for a weekly worship service. We also have smaller midweek groups.

What is your service like?

Our weekly Sunday service lasts 1 hour & includes music, Scripture, times of silent prayer, & a time of teaching. A children’s moment is included in the service & childcare in a separate room is offered midway through the service.

Where are you located?

292 Lafayette Street, Salem MA, 01970. If you’re going south towards Marblehead, we’ll be on your right just before you reach Salem State University. See the map below.

Do you have parking?

We know parking can sometimes be tricky in Salem. But fortunately, yes, we have good options for parking.

  1. Small Parking Lot - We do have a small parking lot in front of the building that can fit 4-5 cars. This is open for visitors and for those needing handicap accessibility.

  2. Plenty of street parking - On Sunday mornings there is always plenty of free street parking available for multiple blocks in front of or across from our building.

Do you stream your services online?

You can watch recordings of our services each week online on YouTube. Our services are not live-streamed, but are posted on YouTube at 12pm each Sunday immediately following our service. Click here to learn more.

We also encourage you to connect with us Monday to Saturday via our social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram).

Who are you affiliated with?

Planted in 1804, First Baptist Church of Salem has long been affiliated with the American Baptist Churches and more recently the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference. Additionally, our church is also connected with and serves in collaboration with other Gospel-believing churches and organizations across the North Shore.

Not quite what you’re looking for?

That’s okay! There are many good churches across the North Shore that we also commend to you. Below are a 2 nearby that we have friendships with:
